FBBGA Members:

There are rumblings in Tallahassee that some of OUR representatives are trying to gut the Fresh From Florida program.

As you know, Fresh From Florida helps promote our blueberries throughout the country and the world and is an important part of our Florida Blueberry marketing efforts.

What has happened is that the proposed budget in the house guts the Fresh From Florida funding.

Even Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam is ticked off.

He said the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee did a “political assault” on Fresh From Florida.

“Gutting the Fresh From Florida program will hurt Florida’s small farms the most, their ability to raise awareness for the high quality of their locally grown products and compete against lesser quality products from foreign countries,” Putnam said in a statement.

Please contact your local representatives and let them know that you want to keep the Fresh From Florida program.
